Nursing Team

The Hospice at Home Nursing Team exists to complement and enhance services already available in the community for patients suffering from cancer or any other life threatening experience.

The Support Team is made up of Registered General Nurses who receive training in Palliative Care.

The Hospice at Home Nursing Service provides:

Direct Nursing care to patients during their illness
Psychological and spiritual support for families/carers and patients suffering from an advanced life threatening illness, where treatment has changed from curable to palliative
Assistance and advice with symptom management to patients, their families and primary care teams
Lymphoedema management
Planned respite care for families/patients
Assistance and advice in obtaining grants/benefits and other social support
Bereavement support
Loan of specialised equipment
The Hospice at Home Nursing Service is involved in educational aspects of Palliative Care.

Day Care

The Hospice at Home community service is complemented by our Day Care Service. This specialist service is provided at:

Our aims are to provide a welcoming, friendly atmosphere in a homely environment where patients with a life threatening illness can attend

Hygeine and beauty (bathing, manicures and hairdressing)
Diversional Therapy (arts, crafts, snooker)

Complementary Therapy (aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki)
